The Los Angeles Police Department announced Wednesday that they have arrested three suspects in connection to the shooting death of rapper PnB Rock, whose real name is Rakim Hasheem Allen.
According to a press release from the LAPD, the suspects were taken into custody on Tuesday night and are each facing charges of murder and attempted murder. Those arrested are a 17-year-old suspect, believed to be the shooter, his father Freddie Lee Trone & his stepmother. He was wanted and considered armed and dangerous, up until his arrest Thursday, where he is expected to be extradited to Los Angeles.
The 17 year old suspect is believed to have entered the restaurant, shooting Allen and taking jewelry from his possession. It is unclear if Allen and the suspects knew each other. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation but is believed to be a robbery.
Rakim Allen, also known as PnB Rock, was shot and killed while having lunch at a Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffle’s in South Los Angeles. The 26-year-old rapper was best known for his songs “Selfish,” “Everyday We Lit” and “Jumanji.” He was set to go on tour with Lil Mosey and YBN Cordae later this year.
PnB Rock’s death sent shockwaves through the music community, with many of his peers taking to social media to mourn his passing.
